These terms govern your use of PieceJob, a service operated by DEVEDGE SOLUTIONS (“PieceJob”, “we”). By using PieceJob on WhatsApp you agree to these terms.
PieceJob is a marketplace that connects customers who need jobs done with independent local workers. PieceJob is not the employer of workers and does not perform the jobs itself. Workers are independent service providers.
Each job type has a fixed price shown to you before you book. Customers pay securely via PayFast. We charge a service commission on each job, which is included in the price. A worker’s share is released after the customer confirms the job is complete.
When you pay for a job, PieceJob receives the payment as a collection agent on the worker’s behalf and holds it only briefly until you confirm completion, at which point the worker’s share is paid out. If no worker is found, or a job is cancelled before it starts, you are refunded.
We verify workers’ identities, but you are responsible for your own interactions. Treat each other with respect. No illegal, unsafe, abusive or fraudulent activity. You may report or block another user at any time; serious cases may lead to removal from the platform.
Customers and workers rate each other after a job. Ratings help keep quality high and may affect how often a worker receives job offers.
If a worker does not arrive or the work is not as agreed, contact us and we will review it. Disputes are handled by our admin team, who may issue refunds or withhold payouts where appropriate.
PieceJob provides the platform “as is” and connects customers and workers in good faith. To the extent permitted by law, PieceJob is not liable for the acts, omissions, quality of work, loss or damage arising between customers and workers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.
We handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms and will post the latest version here. Questions: hello@piecejob.work.
