PieceJob (“we”, “us”), operated by DEVEDGE SOLUTIONS in South Africa, connects people who need jobs done with verified local workers, through WhatsApp. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we protect it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
We process your information with your consent, given when you start using the service, and to perform the service you ask for:
Data is stored securely on Cloudflare infrastructure. ID and selfie photos are kept in a private storage bucket that is not publicly accessible, and are used only for verification. We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and tax obligations.
We share a worker’s and customer’s contact details with each other only after a job is accepted, so the job can go ahead. We use trusted service providers to operate the service — WhatsApp/Meta (messaging), PayFast (payments), and Cloudflare (hosting). We do not sell your personal information.
Under POPIA you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, and you may withdraw consent at any time. To delete your data, reply DELETE on WhatsApp or email hello@piecejob.work. We will action deletion requests promptly, subject to records we must keep by law.
Questions or complaints: hello@piecejob.work. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
This policy is a starting draft and should be reviewed by a legal professional before launch.
